The Greater Wichita YMCA broke ground Thursday on new athletic fields at its Northwest branch.
Located directly across West 21st Street from the Y, the turf fields will help the Y “set the gold standard in youth sports by providing its young athletes with premier playing and practice spaces,” according to a news release.
Phase I of the project will include two turf fields, staff office and other site structures, restrooms, playground, four pickleball courts and dedicated parking.
