Museum to host 155th birthday party for city, county Sunday

The Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum and Heritage Square will be the site of festivities marking the 155th birthday of the city and county Sunday.

The Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum is throwing a 155th birthday party for the city and county from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, July 20.

There will be an ice cream social, music and other activities in museum’s Heritage Square, and visitors are also welcome to stroll through the museum.

Admission is free for museum members and their guests. Others are asked to bring a homemade or store-bought birthday card for free admittance. Cards are available in the museum store.

Wichita was incorporated July 21, 1870, three months after Sedgwick County was established.
