Wichita police have arrested a 16-year-old male on a felony murder charge and continue to search for a second suspect after a 20-year-old man was killed and another was injured in a shooting on North Arkansas on Monday, Sept. 1
According to a news release, officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of North Arkansas for a reported shooting at 4:33 p.m. Monday.
When officers arrived, they found two men inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds in the 600 block of W. 20th Street. Officers, Wichita Fire Department, and EMS personnel provided life-saving measures at the scene.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital in critical condition. At 4:58 p.m., 20-year-old Sebastian Williams was pronounced deceased. The second victim, a 20-year-old male, remains hospitalized.
Detectives are working to determine what led to the shooting. A 16-year-old male has been arrested and booked into the Juvenile Intake Assessment Center (JIAC) for felony murder.
