Tickets go on sale for synchronized skating championship

Tickets are now on sale for the 2024 U.S. Figure Skating Midwestern Synchronized Sectional Championship, which will be held in Wichita Jan. 24-27.
Championship performances will be conducted at Intrust Bank Arena while practices will take place at the Wichita Ice Center. This is Visit Wichita’s fourth time to host a U.S. Figure Skating event.
According to a news release, the competition will attract more than 100 teams, 1,000 athletes and 200-plus coaches and team personnel to Wichita. In total, Visit Wichita estimates the event will generate more than $2.5 million in local economic impact.
“It is such an incredible opportunity to once again host this U.S. Figure Skating competition in Wichita,” said Josh Howell, vice president of sports development for Visit Wichita. “We want to encourage the community to get tickets to this great event and experience the unique sport of synchronized skating.”
Teams consist of 8-20 skaters performing a program together, executing various formations including lines, circles, wheels, and intersections. It uses the same judging system as singles, pairs, and ice dance but is characterized by teamwork, speed, intricate formations, and challenging step sequences. Those competing will range in age from 7 to 70 years old.
Qualifying teams from the Eastern, Midwestern and Pacific Coast sectional championships will earn a berth to the 2024 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships, taking place in Las Vegas, NV, in February 2024.
Adult single session tickets start at $25 and adult all session passes, which provides access to all days of competition, start at $40. Tickets can be purchased online at www.selectaseat.com, by phone at 855-755-SEAT (7328) or in person at the Select-A-Seat Box Office at Intrust Bank Arena.
