Donors to Wichita State’s athletic roster resources (NIL and Revenue Share) will earn Shocker Priority Points, the school announced Monday.
Shocker Athletics will retroactively award priority points associated with name, image and likeness giving beginning July 1, 2021, rewarding donors for their support. Moving forward, donors can continue supporting student-athletes through Revenue Share giving by contributing to the newly launched We Fight For Wichita Fund.
“We offer our sincere thanks and appreciation to Shocker Nation, who have generously given to our NIL collective over the past few years,” said Director of Athletics Kevin Saal. “Historical NIL and future ‘revenue sharing’ support is essential to recruit and retain championship-level talent in all 16 of our sports programs.”
For every $100 contributed to NIL retroactively and Revenue Share moving forward, donors will earn four priority points. These points are utilized within Shocker Athletics for benefit such as parking, premium experiences and preferred status for postseason events.
Due to changing 501c3 status, as of Nov. 30, 2024, the Wheat Shock Collective no longer accepts philanthropic (i.e., tax exempt) donations. In preparation for new NCAA “revenue sharing” legislation, as a result of the anticipated House v. NCAA settlement, Shocker Athletics is now accepting tax-deductible donations directly via the We Fight for Wichita Fund.
Contributions to the We Fight for Wichita Fund will receive four points per every $100 donated, while allowing donors to specifically assist Shocker Athletics student-athletes maximize revenue-sharing opportunities. Gifts can be given to the general fund or to a specific sport program, but not to a specific student-athlete.
