Ribbons to be cut for new and remodeled dog parks

The City of Wichita Park and Recreation Department is holding ribbon cuttings for one new dog park and one remodeled one this week. Council Members and Park staff will discuss features of the dog parks before the ribbon cuttings. Here’s the schedule:

K-9 Rooster Dog Park, 2127 N. Meridian11 a.m. on Monday, May 12
Members of the police department and its K-9 unit will be on hand for the reopening of this popular spot.

Country Acres, 750 N. Country Acres: 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14

Both the new and remodeled parks feature:

  • Benches and shaded shelters 
  • Dog and human drinking fountains
  • Dog wash stations 
  • Gravel entrances
