The City of Wichita Park and Recreation Department is inviting the community to the grand opening of the Carl G. Brewer Community Center from 8:30 a.m. – noon on Saturday, Dec. 6 to celebrate the renovations to the center at 1329 East 16th Street North. The center is located in McAdams Park and was formerly known as the McAdams Recreation Center.
It’s named for Carl Brewer, who served two terms as mayor of Wichita before his death in 2020. According to a news release, “this state-of-the-art center will soon offer a full schedule of recreational programs, educational opportunities and community services that will uplift and empower our Wichita neighborhoods.”
