Installation of phase 3 in Wichita’s shift to paid parking downtown began Tuesday, Sept. 2. According to a news release, Phase 3 will focus on a large number of the remaining streets in the downtown area. Installation is expected to take several weeks and enforcement will begin as the signage and equipment is installed.
City officials advise motorists to downtown the ParkMobile or PayByPhone .
These are the hours of operation for paid parking
- Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Friday – Saturday, 8 a.m. – 9 p.m.
- With the exception of “Event Parking” there will not be a charge for parking outside of the aforementioned hours of operation.
Here are the rates, unless event parking rates apply: Rates
- $1 per hour
- $5 daily for public parking lots
- $10 daily for public parking structures
- Monthly rates may be available for public surface lots and public garages, depending on availability.
