Fall a favorite time of year

By Julie Schaar | August 30, 2019

The welcoming sights, sounds and smells of fall have arrived. What comes to your mind when you think of fall? Do you think of football games, fans cheering and charcoal grills cooking up delicious hamburgers? What about the thought of fall festivals, carnival rides and funnel cakes? Maybe you thought of walks along the river, admiring the changing leaves and breathing in the cool crisp air. It is no wonder fall is the favorite time of year for most of us. Fall is a season of endless opportunities while nature reminds us of her beauty and to be thankful.

In the spirit of thankfulness, I want to thank our donors and advertisers who make the active age not only possible, but also free. Your generosity is deeply appreciated.

I would also like to thank the active age staff (and volunteers) who, month after month, put all their effort into producing a quality publication. Your passion for getting information out to seniors is evident in all you do. Thank you.

Finally, thank you for reading and interacting with the active age. You are why we are here. It is an honor to be a part of your journey.

My sincere hope is that you are able to take the opportunity to enjoy all that fall has to offer.  May you enjoy the sights, sounds and smells…and above all else – be active!
