Heartland Home Health & Hospice is seeking active seniors and other volunteers to help support hospice patients.
Volunteers play an important role in the hospice program by holding a patient’s hand or sharing a story, running errands or performing light housekeeping, making phone calls, supporting a fellow veterans and doing similar tasks, said volunteer coordinator Abbie Hutson.
“Volunteering is such a meaningful and purposeful work, and studies have also shown that is has positive impacts on physical and mental health” of volunteers, Hutson said.
