You might if you were a fan of “Gunsmoke,” the longest-running western in TV history. Although primarily set in and around Dodge City, the show also regularly mentioned other Kansas towns.
Now Visit Wichita, in partnership with convention and visitor bureaus in Abilene, Dodge City and Hays, have launched the Gunsmoke Trail to capitalize on that connection.
The Gunsmoke Trail is accessible through a mobile “passport” program which allows smart phone users to check in at different stops, earning points for prizes.
