PARK CITY — One person was hospitalized in critical condition following a fire here early Sunday.
According to a news release from Sedgwick County, firefighters from Fire District 1, the Wichita Fire Department and Valley Center Fire Department responded to the report of a house fire at 6700 N. Longmont in Park City. First arriving crews found fire and smoke showing from the front of the house. They were able to extinguish the fire without incident. The house suffered smoke damage throughout, with fire damage to about 40 percent of the house.
The occupants left the house prior to the arrival of fire crews. One occupant was transported to the hospital in critical condition but is expected to recover.
The cause of the fire is unknown, and the investigation is still ongoing.
