Sedgwick County Environmental Resources is hosting a free waste tire collection April 10-12, 2025, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at its West Yard, 4701 S. West St. According to a news release, this event is open to residents, farmers and local governmental agencies. Tires will not be accepted from businesses.
For safety reasons, anyone using a large, commercial-size truck or trailer is encouraged to drop tires off on Thursday, April 10. Residents driving standard-size vehicles are asked to come Friday or Saturday, April 11-12. Up to 50 tires per person will be accepted, including tires on rims and tractor tires. Please be prepared to unload your own tires.
To reach the West Yard, keep in mind that road work has closed southbound lanes of West Street from MacArthur Road to 47th Street South. If you are driving in from the north, we recommend taking Meridian Avenue to 47th Street South.
