Wichita Community Theatre, 258 N. Fountain. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Dale Wasserman, based on the novel of Ken Kesey; directed by Joe Perrish. Famous as a 1975 movie starring Jack Nicholson, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest was first staged on Broadway with Kirk Douglas in the leading role. It follows charming rogue McMurphy, who contrives his short jail sentence in a mental institution rather than prison, a decision that will have tragic consequences. Contains adult themes. Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for military/senior/students. There is a special ticket price for everyone of $16 for Sept. 3, and Sept. 10, opening night performances only.
