A pregnant Wichita woman was slain early Sunday morning, police said.
The victim was identified as Naomi Oglesby, 20. Doctors were able to delivery her infant, who is receiving care in the neonatal intensive care unit of a local hospital.
A suspect in the case has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Oglesby was pronounced dead at 5:04 a.m.
Police did not release further details of the investigation, which they said is ongoing.
