Three Kings’ Day celebration
Wichitans can take part in an event modeled on Three Kings’ Day, celebrated in Hispanic culture as the end of the Christmas season.
“And, by the way, we will have three live camels,” said Elizabeth Brunscheen-Cartagena, family life and resource management agent with K-State University Extension.
The free event is from 3-6:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Sedgwick County Extension Office, 21st and Ridge.
Three Kings’ Day, traditionally observed on Jan. 6, is also known as the Epiphany and commemorates the biblical story of three wise men who brought gifts to the baby Jesus.
The event will feature hands-on craft activities, live music and Honduran food available for purchase. Children will receive a treat bag when they visit with the Three Kings.
