By now, you’ve probably seen a plethora of polls and heard plenty about what’s wrong and which candidate is going to fix it. The Active Age conducted a different, very unscientific kind poll at last month’s AARP Kansas food truck/voting rally in Grandparents Park, asking participants what they were happy or grateful for.
Ed Kirkhuff: “I’m going to say home security is right at the top of my list. Having my home.”
Glenda DeBoise,
AARP Kansas Executive Director:
“I’m grateful for God’s grace and his mercy.”
Gerald and Dianna Schmitt: “I’ve had a good, long, happy life. Married to this gal for 56 years.” -Gerald Schmitt
“Family. Friends.” -Dianna Schmitt
Glenda and Bill Reynolds: “My wife. That’s the correct answer.” -Bill Reynolds “I was going to say family.” -Glenda Reynolds
Tavrick Lawless and Anita Raghavan: “I’m grateful for life. I’m happy for the world as it is. Could be better (laughs).”
-Anita Raghavan
“Being supportive of local business in Wichita.”
-Tavrick Lawless
AARP volunteers John and Kathy Kramer, Joan Barrier, Paul Babitch, Anita Raghavan, Tavrick Lawless and Andrea Bozarth: “There are so many things. My family, of course. That’s the major thing.” -Joan Barrier
Charlotte Kuhn and Linda Overman: “Just life in general. We have a lot of good things going for us. And try not to dwell on the others.”
-Linda Overman
“Friendship, and meeting new people. Helping where I can.” -Charlotte Kuhn
Damita Wright:
“I’m grateful for AARP. Even though we have Covid, they’ve still got everything online.”
