The Wichita Police Department has arrested a 59-year-old woman from Wichita in connection with the shooting death of 33-year-old Darries Mitchell last week. According to a news release, the suspect has been booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on murder charges.
The investigation began early June 3 when officers were dispatched at 3:13 a.m. to the Valero gas and convenience store located at 2011 E. 21st St. There, they discovered Mitchell, a Wichita resident, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Sedgwick County EMS transported Mitchell to Wesley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 3:50 a.m.
This case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office for possible charges.
