Six Wichita restaurants on Wine Spectator’s award list

Oenophiles, raise a glass to Wichita’s wine scene: The city has six restaurants on the new 2024 Restaurant Awards list released Tuesday by Wine Spectator magazine.

They’re fairly scattered around the city: in College Hill, the Wine Dive, 4714 E. Douglas, and Vora, 3252 E. Douglas, made the cut; west Wichita is represented by 6S Steakhouse, 6200 W. 21st; east Wichita by Newport Grill, 1900 N. Rock Road (Bradley Fair); downtown by Sienna Tuscan Steakhouse, 104 S. Broadway (in the Ambassador Hotel); and the Kellogg corridor by Scotch & Sirloin, 5325 E. Kellogg.

Wine Spectator, which bills itself as “the world’s leading authority on wine,” said the list designates “the world’s best restaurants for wine.” This year, 3,777 dining destinations from all 50 states in the U.S. and more than 75 countries internationally made the list.

All six Wichita restaurants were on last year’s list except for Sienna, which fell off for one year.

Wichita has the most restaurants on the list of any Kansas city, followed by Prairie Village in Johnson County with three.

Brothers Brad and Brent Stephen own the Wine Dive and Vora, along with Wine Dives in Manhattan and Lawrence that also made the list.
